We ‘like’! Zuckerberg’s bride wore a $4,700 wedding gown

What a week! Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg celebrated his 28th birthday, took his company public, and married his college sweetheart Priscilla Chan in a surprise wedding that earned 400,000 “likes” in just three hours. NBC’s Mike Taibbi reports.

Mark Zuckerberg, 28, and Priscilla Chan, 27, his girlfriend of nine years, tied the knot over the weekend. Now we’ve got the details on the ceremony and Chan’s dress.

Zuckerberg and Chan arranged an intimate wedding ceremony in the backyard of their Palo Alto, California home. The pair have reportedly been planning the ceremony for four months — guests thought they were attending a surprise party for Chan’s graduation from medical school. Such tricksters!

Fewer than 100 guests were at the wedding, but more than 1 million people have already “liked” Zuckerberg’s new “married” Facebook status.

After the ceremony, guests had a family-style meal from the newlyweds’ favorite restaurants, Palo Alto Sol and Fuki Sushi. For dessert they had chocolate mice from Burdick Chocolate, which is what Zuckerberg and Chan ate on their first date.

Pics of the wedding rings haven’t been released, but according to People magazine, Zuckerberg had a hand in designing Chan’s ruby engagement ring.

Okay, so what did the bride wear? A $4,700 dress from Claire Pettibone. Chan chose the ivory “Sky Between the Branches” gown, which has a floral sequin-covered overlay, sheer back, and chapel-length train (which means it was 3 to 4 feet long).

The label is sold at New York’s Kleinfeld, and the store’s PR team told us that the dress is still available! Since 2010, the store has sold 15 of the “Sky Between the Branches” gowns, one of Pettibone’s most popular styles.

Now, let’s look at the pretty dress again!
